THE POWER OF UNITY

Let me start by saying this post was inspired by a great Mentor and Leader, Pastor Philip Ransom Bello whom I esteem with high regard. Also, I'm going to state that I believe in Jesus and also believe that the Bible is the basis and standard for truth.

So with this point stated down, let me begin by saying God has blessed us with the power of friendships and I believe we do have that one person we call a friend in whom we confine our problems with, draw strength from and inspires us one way or the other. I also believe whoever we call a friend is a gift from God because God created the human race not to be lonely species. We need people around our lives to help us achieve things and fulfil purpose on this earth.

God so believe in the power of unity that when the Tower of Babel was been built in the Bible, they achieved whatever they wanted because their heart was synchronised as one. So the success of a company or an organisation depends greatly on the unity of its worker. So that's why, when there's conflict in the workplace, the productivity of the company is dropped and goals are not been achieved as they ought to be.  All for one and one for all was a motto derived from The Three Musketeers and it’s something we should retrofit into our current environments. Where there's a unified team, leaders and organisations make the impossible achievable.

For a student, Studying is a big part of any student's life that wants to succeed. It is the time that you practice what you learned in class with your teacher, a place you find your weaknesses and also find your strengths and so on. You can do it in various ways. Some people like to study alone in a library, almost in absolute silence. Others like to unite with their course mates to share information together. Everyone has their own way to study, the way they feel is the best for them. As for me, I do both, I do study alone and also study with my close buddies. Sharing information with the same guys you spend your lives to attend the same classes as you are the greatest way to make your study experiences better. Unity makes strength!

This same principle applies in marriage, God wants unity among couples. Though there will be a conflict which will always show up and that’s a means in which the devil always seems to capitalise on in destroying marriages. The devil always looks for how to break the bond of unity among couples and destroy the marriage. So I’ll say in marriage, for the continuation of unity (though I’m not married yet) *eyes rolling* let there be Trust, Mutual Respect and Cooperation among couples for a lasting bond of unity. I just hope I was able to communicate this little thing I know as in regarding marriage.

Lastly, the body of Christ is an essential part in which unity is a major watchword. As believers, we are called into one body, the body of Christ Jesus. We are to strive for unity among ourselves in all things. Unity is the state of being one. We are to be like-minded with Christ and renew our minds to the endurance and encouragement the scripture offers us. We should make an effort to dwell in the spirit of unity between believers; there should be no divisions or arguments among us. We should live in mutual harmony out of love for each other in accordance with Christ Jesus. Romans 15:5-6

Though it takes an effort to get along and be in agreement with other brothers and sisters in Christ. It is definitely a lesson in love. It takes a lot of humility, patience and endurance but we are to be eager to guard and keep this harmony and oneness into which we were called. Unity is produced by the spirit of God and it has the power to bind us together in peace and achieve the impossible. In the book of Psalms 133:1, David expounded that it’s a great joy for brothers to dwell together in unity. We know the devil looks for means to break the bond of unity between brethren by isolating them. Isolation is a wicked tool of the enemy to penetrate the heart of a believer and so I’ll suggest to Believers, never forsake the assembly of brethren because that’s the place we sharpen our bond.

So I guess I have written enough already and I believe this post will indeed be a blessing and inspiration to someone. So please read through and share your thought through the comment box. *wink*.

Hey Fam, let me start by confessing that this is my first ever blog post. So pardon my little little errors and share your thoughts to what is written and please place your comments *smiles*.

I must say that gathering and putting this thoughts together wasn't easy as i said to myself 'Michael do you know what you are doing'?  But at least let me try and give it a shot. Let me start by saying I've been a college graduate for two (2) years now and my experience outside the four (4) walls of school has indeed being an experience and an eye opener to which i have gathered a bit of wisdom.

While in school, I've always loved to be an active participant of school activities and not being a spectator as most college student. I got involved in student leadership and training, followed and grew my passion for music by joining the school music band in which i was actively committed to service. There were times when i thought to myself why am i stressing myself with all these extra curricular activities because after classes which closes late in the evening, i normally run to meet up to my commitment and i said to myself why don't i be like other students who just go to their rooms and rest till the next day?

It was now i understood the importance of those things i called stress back in the days as it shaped me to a better man in which responsibilities can be confidently handed to you and your employer will be rest assured that the set task is going to carried out and thus increasing your ability and capacity to do greater works.

Let me quickly state my point for this post. As an aspiring graduate who is about coming to the other side of life, you can get soft landings if you have a fore knowledge of service as men and women of the real world are looking for young guys and ladies who they can entrust various responsibilities to. If you have a mindset of negligence, laziness and refusal for service while still in school, its going to follow you to the real world and there you'll find difficulty in being accepted in a workforce or securing a start up job.

So my friends, never shy away from every opportunity you come across to serve. Do you know that while in service, you come to the realization of your inward potentials being given to you by God?
Early involvement in service develops you, brings out your hidden talents, shapes that talents and gives you a sense of direction to take to the next level.

As i round up this post, here is something to think about At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”
